Issues with SCORM courses playing in browsers on tablet devices
Oct 10, 2018
I have been having many issues with viewing published Storyline SCORM courses in different browsers on a tablet. I have published the Storyline file as a SCORM course and have uploaded it to the LMS. Whenever I try viewing the SCORM course in the LMS on a tablet only one browser has been working. I am only able to view the SCORM course in Google Chrome.
When I try testing out the SCORM course using Microsoft Edge, the following message pops up ' An error has occurred: Error - unable to acquire LMS, API content may not play properly and results may not be recorded. Please contact technical support. Press 'OK' to view debug information to send to technical support.'
Then when I try viewing the SCORM course in Firefox on a tablet the following message pops up ' Your Browser: Safari v.0 This browser is not recommended for launching this course, as your course results will not be recorded properly. We recommend using the latest version of this browser to launch this course.' Which is odd because I am not using Safari, but Firefox.
Is there something I need to change in the publish settings when I go to publish a SCORM course that I may be missing?

Hi Erin,
Are you using Storyline 360 or another version? The system requirements here will show what browsers are supported, and on a mobile device you'll want to look at using:
Safari in Apple iOS 10 or later, Google Chrome in Apple iOS 10 or later, Google Chrome in Android OS 4.4 or later
I'm using Storyline 360. What about browsers like Firefox, Edge, and even Internet Explorer?
Hi Erin,
As you can see in the documentation Ashley shared above, those are not supported browsers on a mobile device, such as a tablet.
