Issues with triggering an action when the user presses a key

Dec 16, 2019

Hello there,

I'v been experiencing two problems with setting up a trigger, that should adjust a variable whenever the user presses the arrow down key. I'm using the latest update on Storyline 360.

Issue 1:  When setting up the trigger in the Trigger Wizard Window, the arrow down key is being misinterpreted as the 2 on the numeric keypad. When I edit the trigger though in the Triggers Side Panel, the arrow down key is recognised correctly.

Issue 2 (the main issue): When setting up the trigger, I can't just solely set the When-Section to "When the user presses [key]", but the program always automatically adds "after clicking on [random button]". I can change the button, but can't remove that bit completely.

What can I do about it?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Christina,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are running into with your project.

It looks like Owen was able to pop in and help you with the second question, but I'd like to take a look and understand the first one.

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
