Issues with variable

Hey everyone,

I am having an issue with a variable. I have a set of 5 boxes on a slide. Each one triggers a layer to show, the user then closes that layer and returns to the menu. I have set each of those boxes to change state to gray after the user clicks visits it. I have created a variable "Visited", each of the 5 boxes is set to add the value of 1 to the variable. I also have a layer in which I have a "menu" button. I would like to show this menu button when the user has viewed all 5 of the boxes, when my "Visited" variable is equal to 5. However it is not working. When I preview the slide/scene the everything else works as planned but the menu button never appears. 

I have had a fellow colleague look it over and she did not find any obvious mistakes in the way the triggers and variables are set up.

I need help. Any ideas or similar issues?

I would add the reference just to troubleshoot that the value is 5.  

Also are you disabling the boxes that are being clicked?  What happens if you press one more than once does it add again?

Are you using a show layer when variable changes trigger.

By chance do you have layers set to hide other layers? It may be that your layer from clicking the box is hiding the layer with your object on.  May be better to set to hidden and change state instead

Thanks for your timely responses.

I added the reference but made the text the same color as the background so that the user doesn't see it. Is this an optional part of the variable feature?

I am disabling the boxes but I put a condition into the triggers so that if the user clicks on a box after it is "disabled" it does not add a value of 1 to the variable.

I was using a show layer when variable changes trigger.

I made my button into an image and created a disable state for it. This seems to be working although I am not loving how quickly it pops up. It quickly pops up as soon as that 5th box is viewed before the show layer for that box does. This is very minor but is a bit distracting. Any ideas for smoothing that out?

Thanks for the tip. Not sure why the show layer when variable changes isn't working but this will due as a workaround.
