Items become ungrouped (without actually trying to ungroup) then...too confusing to explain

Dec 01, 2015

Items became ungrouped then one of the items within the group (picture, text box...etc.) continues to be identified as a grouped item. This has happened more than once, but I don't know why, nor do I know the affect it will have if I continue to use the misidentified assets. The only action I remember is undoing and redoing (though the groupings were not the issue at the time). Any ideas or thoughts?

I have attached the file. The problem is apparent when comparing layer "Question02" to layer "Answer02"

Hi Steve,

Thanks for sharing the file here. I can see what you're describing but it doesn't seem that I'm able to group or ungroup any elements in that file? Perhaps it's an element of file corruption - as I seem to be able to group and ungroup items normally in other files. Can you confirm that you're working on project files as described here.

Hi Leslie! I am not intending to do anything really. My problem is that I have items in the Timeline that were grouped then suddenly, not grouped. The problem now is that some of the items on the Timeline are still identified as part of a group when in fact they aren't grouped with anything. This file is currently on my C Drive.

Thanks Steve for checking into that. Have you looked at importing it into a new file? I'm not able to see how to ungroup those elements as they show as individual items and since you don't remember how it got that way it's difficult to track down. Any other information you can share in regards to how to set this up that would be helpful!
