I haven't heard that problem before - and you mentioned it occurred after having Storyline open for a bit, so I'd want to confirm that you were following along with the guidelines here to work locally on your project files. If the behavior persists in the one file, you may also want to try importing it into a new file as described here.
If it continues, let us know and we'll want to take a look at the .story file.
thanks for your prompt reply I did try all of the above. I am now working on another computer and it's fine ? Not sure what happened on but at least I can carry on! If it happens again it will take you up on you offer many thanks
