I have a client that is moving away from java and wants a java free product for their training. Is Storyline java free to begin with? If not, can I make it java free?
Storyline neither requires Java, https://www.java.com/en/, to be installed on your operating system nor installs Java – so you and your client should be A-OK there. 😊
I agree that they are probably referring to Java and not Javascript. Java requires a separate app to be installed on the computer or device, where Javascript just runs in the browser automatically without anything extra.

Are you referring to Java or JavaScript?
They said Java. I didn't clarify and quite honestly didn't know there was a difference.
Hey, Jennifer. Thanks for reaching out!

Thank you all for your responses. It’s appreciated!
Yes most likely Java. These days almost no authoring tools (Storyline included) require Java. Some LMSes still use Java for their SCORM player though.
