I have created a button at the end of the course and insert the JavaScript (/story_content/ external_files/tracking.aspx?Employeename=textempname&sapcode=txtsapid&status=success), Create one file and insert the same in story_content/external_files, But the JavaScript link is not redirect to the path.
After clicking the button the redirect path link: 10.98.1.40/story_content/external_files/tracking.aspx?Employeename=textempname&sapcode=txtsapid&status=success
external_files really seems to be designed for the storage of files that you want the user to download, like PDF's, Printed transcripts, etc.
If you want the program to run the javascript, it is best to paste the script in a jump to URL trigger, like Michael suggested. When you publish, SL takes care of placing the script in the proper location.
For what it's worth, it's also best to connect documents by means of a jump to file trigger. When you do that, SL places the file in the proper folder when you publish.
