Javascript to change the text which is displayed in the Notes Tab?

Here is what I am attempting to do:

I have a slide with 3 images which can be clicked on. Each time the learner clicks on an image the layer for that image is displayed and audio is played.

I need to have the text which is in the Notes tab of my menu change to display the corresponding text for the audio file which is playing.

I have changed the Notes tab to read CC, so this is changing the CC text to match the audio.

In Captivate, there are system variables which can accomplish this however, I am using Storyline 2 and need to find a way to do this.

Does anyone know of any javascript which can do this? I am not a javascript pro so I would need detailed guidance on getting the code into Storyline 2.

I know how to create a CC box which is placed at the bottom of the page and based on the layer change the state however, I cannot do that in this case as I need to be consistent over the 9 separate modules which I am creating in Storyline 2.
