I created a course with multiple choice single select questions. When JAWS screen reader goes over the selected radio button it says "radio button not selected". It also says to change selection use the up and down arrows but that doesn't work either. This happens on IE 11 and Firefox 58.0.2 (64-bit) and also when previewing. Any ideas?
The first bug you referenced (JAWS screen reader goes over the selected radio button it says "radio button not selected") is fixed in Storyline 360, and we're targeting to release the same fix in the next update of Storyline 3. I'll keep you posted on the progress of that.
We're still working on the second bug you mentioned (change selection use the up and down arrows), and I don't have an ETA on a fix for that one quite yet. If anything changes, I'll let you know.
Thanks so much for letting us know these bugs are affecting your courses, and I'm really sorry if it is causing headaches!
This does not seem to be fixed in SL 360. Can you offer some advice on how to work around this problem? I am getting the same experience as the original poster described (I'm using the Modern Player, if that matters).
I see you found a workaround in the meantime that you shared here. I wanted to share that link in case anyone else wanted to take a look :)
We do still have an open issue with the selected state of a radio button only being read by JAWS once you navigate back to it, but not at the time of selection.
I have not tried navigating backwards to a radio button to test JAWS reader accuracy, so I just went ahead and did a workaround because I needed to move forward. Thanks for sharing my workaround. Please let me know when this is resolved in subsequent releases.
Hello! I am also experiencing the same issues that the original poster described. Has there been any updates on fixing this? Is there another place that I can look for these solutions? Is there a way to be updated when this is fixed?
I am also experiencing a similar problem where Jaws is reading the bullet point and asking the learner to use the up and down arrows to select the option. Selecting the up and down arrow doesn't work however if I press space bar the radio button is activated. How can I change the instruction?

Hi Hameed,

Hi Hameed! We just released update 3 for Storyline 3! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where JAWS screen readers would announce selected answer choices as "not checked" in HTML5 output.
Here’s where you can download and install the latest version of Storyline 3. Let me know how you make out!

Is that what you are experiencing as well?

I understand, Steve. I'll add this conversation to the report so that we can update you right here :)

Hi Genevieve,
Have you updated Storyline 360 or Storyline 3?
It looks like this bug was fixed in both versions. Are you still experiencing issues since updating?
I was able to check and I have the latest version of Storyline 3. I am still experiencing issues with JAWS in regard to the radio buttons though.
I am also experiencing a similar problem where Jaws is reading the bullet point and asking the learner to use the up and down arrows to select the option. Selecting the up and down arrow doesn't work however if I press space bar the radio button is activated. How can I change the instruction?
Hi Genevieve and Claire!
