Jaws reading "zero." before the value of a variable.

Feb 11, 2016

I have an issue with Jaws in Swedish: When using a variable Jaws is reading "zero." before the value of the variable. So for example if the value of my variable %counter% is 4, Jaws reads "0.4".

Anyone experienced this before (in any language)? Any suggestions how to solve it?

Hi Ursula,

I can say I've never used JAWS in another language - but I also haven't heard of the zero happening in regular JAWS either. Are you using the latest version of JAWS ( I believe it's 17) and the latest Internet Explorer browser (they information states that they support the latest of each)? If so, and you're still having difficulty we'd be happy to take a look and you can send along your file to our Support Engineers here.

Hi Ashley,

Is it possible for you to see whether there is a file of my case? I have submitted it via the internet page twice but I have not received any e-mails at all. So I am wondering if the request is really going through or not.

Thank you.

Hi Ursula,

I looked into it and I see a few different email addresses for you - so I'm not sure which one you may be submitting it with but I didn't see any cases associated with the 3 email addresses I found.  I would submit one for you, but I'm not sure which email you'd want to use. When you visit this page here and submit it - do you see a "Case submitted" message pop up? That would confirm it went through and then you should receive an automated email message with the case number? If you want to let me know which email you'd prefer I can go ahead and submit it for you.

Hi Ashley,

Thank you for checking this! Yes, I saw the ”case submitted” message twice but got no mail to my current adress, which is

Ursula.rudling@grade.com

I would be grateful if you could kindly submit this on my behalf. I am attaching the file here. It is in Swedish but it is easy to see what is going on there. It is a simple quizz, with a ”counter” variable to give the final score. (I have opted for building my own score mechanism because your own quizz template does not work that well with Jaws.)

Thank you
Ursula

Thanks Ursula - I went ahead and submitted the case on your behalf, but it looks like you may have responded here via email and as such attachments are not included. I went ahead and submitted the case anyway and our team will be able to provide you a link in which you can upload your file. For reference your case number is 00738208.
