Position Title: E-Learning Interactive Creator

Position Type: Independent Contract Work on a Project-by-Project Basis

Organization Description:

Ocean Classrooms creates online marine science courses. Our courses are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and incorporate research-based instructional strategies. In addition to our online curricula, we offer a view into live ocean data. Our science node portal offers students and laymen alike a unique interface to explore multifaceted live data from around the world’s oceans.

Position Description:

The contractor will design and create a range of interactives to supplement our courses and enhance learning and engagement for users. The interactives will be coded in HTML5/Javascript for cross device compatibility. The use of Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline is encouraged.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript is a must

  • Basic writing skills

  • Expertise in Captivate or Storyline is a must

  • Good communication skills

  • Initiative, creativity, and attention to detail

Desirable Skills:

  • Basic Photoshop skills

  • Ability to illustrate from ideas and concepts under instruction from scientists and education experts

  • Ability to create basic animations
