Hi there, Mike. Those are some great first troubleshooting steps. Let me grab a little more information from you to see if we can get in the right direction:
Where is your content hosted, or are you opening the output file directly from your desktop?
Is this behavior the same in all browsers?
What format did you use when publishing (e.g. HTML5 only, HTML5 first, etc)?
Not sure if this will apply to your situation, Mike, but here's what I did to get it working. I had been using Roboto from Google's font collection. I'd downloaded and installed it from the Google Fonts site. I also use Adobe Typekit, so I tried uninstalling Roboto from my machine and using the version of Roboto that's in Typekit.
That stopped the text from being jumbled (but it did change my layout on about 100 screens). Not a fun experience, but at least my text isn't jumbled for a course that's about to be deployed. Hopefully something about this can help you.
