jump to next scene on key press
Nov 05, 2015
Hi, I'm using the Articulate Accessibility guide to create Section 508 compliant modules. I'm creating hotkey (keyboard) shortcuts for navigation through the modules based on a suggestion in the guide. I've successfully set up the right and left arrow keys to move from slide to slide within scenes.
However, moving from the last slide in a scene to the next scene is a problem. The triggers are set up on two slide masters. The slide master for the last slide in Scene 1 is set up to jump to next scene on key press of Page Down. Setting the trigger to Jump to Next Scene doesn't work. Setting the trigger to the name of the next scene does. This makes relative linking to next scenes impossible. Any suggestions (see attached)?

Hi, Richard -- Thanks so much for sharing your file and for your question! I will go ahead and take a look, and will let you know my findings as soon as possible. :)
Hi, Richard -- I appreciate your patience while I tested your file, and I encountered the same behavior that you described. I would like our Support Engineers to take a closer look for you, as they may have some suggestions that achieve what you are hoping to accomplish. I will go ahead and submit a ticket on your behalf, and you will be hearing from a member of the Support Staff after they have had an opportunity to review your file.
And if you would like to reach out to the folks in our Building Better Courses forum, they may have some ideas that could do the trick, as well! :)
No worries Christie--thanks for opening up support case # 00688865--look forward to hearing back on this.
Sure thing, Richard, and I will be sure to share updates on the case here in the thread for others who may be having a similar issues and can benefit if they come across this thread.
Was this ever resolved? Thanks
Hi Joe,
Nothing new yet, but thanks for following up with us. Are you seeing this issue as well?
If so, a workaround you can try is instead of saying "jump to next scene," to say, "jump to scene 2" or whichever scene you'd like them to visit next. What you could do is create a master layout for each scene so that the "master trigger" will be accurate for each scene.
Give that a shot, and let me know how it goes!
