Jump to scene, problem when activated repeatedly

Nov 15, 2013

Dear all,

I'm having an issue in Storyline. When children click a certain button in an exercise slide, they are referred to another scene to get some more help. Within this scene they can click a specific button to leave the scene and go back to the previous one. If they watch the whole scene, they automatically go back to the previous scene at the end en continue the exercise.

Now, this works perfectly in the ideal scenario: a child makes an exercise, needs some extra help and clicks the help button. They get some extra explanation in the other scene and are then able to continue the exercise.

However, when a child leaves this scene by using the previous button and decides afterwards that he does want to watch the help scene, he gets stuck in the exercise. The help scenes plays, but the previous button doesn't work anymore and the child does not automatically get back to the previous scene when they have watched the entire help scene...

Does anybody know how I can solve this? I did change the setting of 'when revisiting' to 'reset to initial state', but this does not solve the problem within one slide.

Thanks in advance for helping me out!

Kind regards,

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

Not sure if this will work for you - especially, as Dennis says, not seeing the story.

But could your help be in a lightbox slide? Because when lightbox slides are closed, they close you "back to where you were."

Or, could your help be on the resources tab...or another tab you create? That way, again, it would be accessible from any slide and would close to where you were then you opened it.

Please shout out with questions if any of this isn't clear. Or, upload your story if you can.
