Jump to time trigger on other slide
May 29, 2020
Hello there,
I want to set a trigger on slide A that guides learners to a specific time point on slide B. I didn't find a way using the "jump-to-time" trigger, because it only works for the same slide.
So I tried a workaround which works well: I created a true/false-variable and changed its value from FALSE to TRUE, when the learner clicks on a button to jump from slide A to slide B. On slide B I created a "jump-to-time" trigger when the timeline starts on slide B and under the condition that the variable value is TRUE.
However this workaround doesn't work anymore, when on slide B there are "pause timeline" triggers that occure before the "jump-to-time" timepoint (e. g. I want to jump to timepoint 22 sec, but the timeline stops at 4 sec, because at 4 sec there is the "pause timeline" trigger).
I'm happy for any advice or tipps on this issue. Thanks a lot.

Hi Christian, can you also add a condition to the "pause timeline" trigger? Use a variable to determine whether it should pause or not?
Hi Christian,
To get round this, all you need to do is to add a condition to your "Pause Timeline" trigger to only pause the timeline is the True/False variable is equal to FALSE. Now, when the user clicks on the button on the previous slide, they will be jumped straight to the 22 second point on the next slide and the timeline will continue to run.
Hi Sam,
Obviously the internet is slightly slower down on the Mornington Peninsula or else you just have a quicker mouse-clicking finger. At least we both gave the same answer, so Christian should now be all sorted ! :-)
Ha, no problem Ned. Was just down on the Peninsula today, down at Mushroom Reef.
Hi Sam, hi Ned,
thanks a lot for your quick response and your advice. Now it wokrs :)
In addition to the "Pause Timeline" trigger I have several "Motion Path" triggers on Slide A. When I add the same condition to these triggers, it works very well. Otherwise the timeline stops.
Best regards!
