Jump to URL redirection working only in Chrome

May 18, 2018

Hi All,

I have included a Jump to URL button upon completion of the course, but noticed that it only works in Chrome browser.

I have tested on Firefox and IE and both shows a message  "The content has ended. You may close this window. " instead of redirecting to the URL. Any ideas why?

I'm publishing to LMS in HTML5.

Hi Boris,

Does the button have more than one trigger associated with it?

For example, are you using triggers like these:

  • Jump to URL when the user clicks the button
  • Exit course when the user clicks the button

Also, have you had a chance to test it in another environment like SCORM Cloud to see if the same behavior happens there? I'm happy to help you with that testing if you don't mind sharing your file with me!

Hi again, Bobby! 👋

I wanted to follow up in this thread for anyone else who may run into this in the future.

We're seeing an issue in Storyline 360 where the "jump to URL" trigger set to launch on the same window/tab is not working, if the content is published for LMS.

To get around this, you can switch the setting to "display in new browser window", like this:

As soon as I get new information on this issue, I'll pop back in and update this thread.
