I believe not in the tool itself. Your options are to create your text in another program and bring in as a graphic or a web object or trying to insert a blank space and give it a really small font size (haven't tried that last one yet).
We've asked for a lot of improved text abilities (e.g., table support, custom bullets, hanging indents, etc., etc.), and Articulate, during the beta, said they would be looking at improving things here later (no ETA or what).

I believe I saw a beta thread on kerning where Jeanette said "Not possible - please submit a request...".
