Keywords in a text box
Dec 10, 2012
Hi All-
I am using Storyline to create some e-learning for law enforcement (great tool by the way!), wondering if there is a way to just plug in keywords in the answer field on the backend so that when a user types in any text that includes one of the keywords I've selected as an appropriate answer the system will count it as successful response? In my current course I'm using different video scenarios and asking users to tell me what they see in short video clips. There could be a number of ways to answer, and so long as the user hits on keywords then I would like to be able to proceed forward or provide remedial feedback as needed. I've tried the "freeform" text entry field, but it looks like all I can do is enter the different ways a user can answer and hope the user types in one of the answers I've included (word for word). Any thoughts on how I can just key in on keywords? Tks
Jim

:( I was looking for the answer to this too.
I'm sorry you never got a reply, Jim.... I stumbled upon this thread (which also doesn't really have a resolution): https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/storyline-free-form-question#reply-71523
Since your question was 4 years ago, I doubt it'll be relevant to you anymore, but perhaps someone like myself will find it somewhat helpful...
Hi Jazzmine! Thanks for posting the discussion you found when researching this idea. It looks like Michael had a workaround in his comment using JavaScript. He's a rather active user, so you can always reach out to him directly using the Contact Me option in his user profile to see if he can still assist!
