lag in link becoming active
Sep 06, 2019
Hi all!
I'm a pretty new ID and it's my first time posting in the E-Learning Heroes discussion board! I'm working on updating an old course right now and am noticing that the link on the attached slide ("Lab Worker" layer) isn't becoming active until the third bullet appears (even though the link is attached to the first bullet).
Would someone be kind enough to take a look at this slide and let me know what's going on here? Thanks in advance!

I still don't understand why this was happening, but decided to just break up the text into separate text boxes. The link works just fine now and becomes active immediately.
Welcome to eLearning Heros! Great to see you here.
Updating old courses designed by someone else, how fun. Like doing puzzles. My hat is off to you.
That text box contains four paragraphs (title and three bullets) and is set to fade them in one at a time (see the attachment). When this type of animation is used, the link will not be available until all of the paragraphs are showing.
I personally don't like using the animate by paragraph setting, I prefer to have a different text box for each piece of animated text that I can see stacked neatly in my timeline.
What you did, is exactly what I would have recommended. I responded mostly just to say "hello" and welcome to the community.
Thanks for the warm welcome, John! I hope to become more active here.
I figured that's what was going on, but it's nice to have confirmation.
Yes, updating courses others have made can pose quite a challenge. Thankfully I'll soon be moving in to creating new courses! Hope to see you around on the forums. :)
