Yes Storyline 360. It's not a game breaker but a client has picked up on it and I agree it looks a little strange.
The solution I've implemented is to basically add a slide layer to just fades a white box over the entire slide before moving onto the next slide, which kinda works as I'm using the fade transition between slides.
Sorry to hear that you ran into this as well Dario. By replying, you should now be subscribed to this thread and we will post updates here when we can.
I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.
Hi Leslie, I just wanted to chime in regarding this issue. We have an upcoming event where users will complete a survey that includes a drag-n-drop question. While the others haven't labeled this as a deal breaker, it's pretty major to our course for a couple of reasons:
1) By the item disappearing, It can confuse the user to think they didn’t answer the entire question.
2) We will be using xAPI to track the results and need to generate reports showing what the users order was for the question. Will the disappearing trick cause an issue with reporting?
I still plan on moving forward with the testing to the LMS tomorrow, but wanted to bring this up in the meantime.
We understand that this is an issue for learners and it does look confusing. As mentioned above, we are digging into this and will post updates here when we can.
Let us know how your LMS testing went regarding reporting. This is not something I've personally taken a look at.
We do have this reported for SL3 as well, but I do appreciate you chiming in so that I can add this thread to the report as well as we track user impact.
I do not have an ETA to share at this time, but I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.
Thanks for your patience as we fixed this issue where the last drag item in a drag-and-drop interaction might disappear after completing the interaction in HTML5 output. Today's update of Storyline 360 has a fix included, so you'll want to launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
If you'd like to see the full list of release notes, they're available here.
I share a sample .story file demonstrating the issue.
The first item you drag will disappear.
But I noticed that this problem only occurs in courses that were created before the last update. I created a new project file, and everything works fine. Unfortunately we can not re-do all our projects. Please help to solve the problem.
Thank you so much for sharing that file. I gave it a test, and I saw the same problem you did. I also tried importing the slides into a new file, but that didn't seem to help.
From here, I'm going to get this over to our Support Engineers for a closer look. They'll reach out to you via email once they've tested the file. Stay tuned!
Really sorry you're running into this problem. We've identified an issue in the HTML5 output where the first drag item dropped in a Drag-and-Drop interaction disappears when moving to the next slide. Specifically, this happens when the answers are set to "Shuffle".
Does this description seem to match what you're seeing in your file?
Thanks for letting us know, David. Really sorry you ran into that! Do you find the last drag item doesn't disappear if you change the shuffle setting to 'None'?
Thanks for letting us know you're seeing it too, David and I'm sorry it's caused you such trouble. I know a few other users were able to remedy it by either turning off the shuffle or removing the background graphic that was causing these items to disappear. Let us know if that helps you too!
This doesn't appear to be resolved for me. Storyline 3.22.17236.0 and straight away, if I create a new drag and drop from the Velocity template, set it to shuffle answers, I get a disappearing answer when transitioning to the next slide.
As a follow up, this is happening even if you start from scratch and have no background image (but have shuffle answers on). Just drag 1 to A and 2 to B in the attached. I have slowed the transition to the next slide down, so you can see that an item has disappeared. It's the shuffle that is causing it.

Hi Silas,
Sorry to hear that you've run into an issue with this.
This is an issue we are aware of and have reported for Storyline 360. Is that what you are using as well?
I will add this thread to the report as we track user impact and so that we can update you here when we can.

Thanks for confirming Silas.
Glad that you have a workaround to get you by as well.
I can confirm this bug with SL360, it's not critical but a fix would be very nice, because it's quite evident on the final product :)

I would also like to pop in that problem occurs also in SL3. Any ETA on fixing that? :)

I can confirm this error with SL 360 after the last update. Now the first element that has been dragged disappears.
Hi Elena,
Could you please share a sample .story file demonstrating the issue you are seeing?
I'd be happy to take a look. If you cannot share it here in the forums, you are welcome to share here privately.
Same for me, the error is still present, going to share an example with the support team.

I just updated to the 360 v3.17 build today. I am also seeing this issue now.
Free Form Drag and Drop with randomization.

Dear
None of the workarounds mentioned above works for me. Any idea on when this issue will be fixed in a new release?
Kind regards
Anneleen
Hi Anneleen,
Thanks for reaching out.
The original issue reported here for the last item in a drag and drop interaction disappearing has been corrected as Ashley shared here.
Please be sure you are using the latest version of Storyline 360, which is now Update 18.
If you're seeing a different issue, please share the details so that I can continue to help you out here :)
