Launch URL browser window has no scrollbar

May 12, 2014

Hello,

I have several text links that launch a URL in a new window.  Because it's a glossary, I have used the browser options to set the size to 800x600.  Unfortunately, the new window does not have a scrollbar, so people can't explore the glossary once they open it.

Can anyone tell me if this is a bug?

Thanks,

Terry

Hi Ashley,

I have set up the following options:

  • Display in new browser window
  • Browser controls: default
  • Window size Custom
  • width 800
  • Height 600

With these settings, I get a scrollbar in Chrome, but not in IE or Firefox.  (that's all I've tested.  I'm using windows 8)

I also cannot resize the new browser window in IE, though I can resize it in Chrome and Firefox.

Thanks

Hi Terry,

Thanks for confirming your set up - it seems to match an issue that has recently been reported to our Quality Assurance team where the browser properties misbehave in IE and Firefox. The current workaround is to use "Default" for window size, instead of "custom" or "full screen". I tested this with a sample file, and once I made that change I was able to access the browser controls such as the scroll bar within IE.

I'll also add this thread to the existing report with our QA team so that when I have additional information to share I'll be able to post here.
