Launching course from Social Media

Sep 20, 2018

Hi,

I have created a game and published as WEB.  Our IT department loaded the file on our server and created a link.  Our goal is to use the link on social media to generate interest.  The link works fine from a computer.  The link does not work on a mobile device.  The game loads and an image appears with a Launch button.  When you click the Launch button, you are directed to install Articulate Mobile Player.  After installing the player, you get a black screen.  I published using HTML5 only and also tried HTML5/Flash with Articulate Player checked.  Any suggestions?

Hi there, Amanda!  If you would like the course to launch directly in the web browser of mobile devices, you'll want to uncheck the Articulate Mobile Player option.

Because of the revamped HTML5 output with Storyline 3 and 360, your mobile learners will already get the best mobile experience without needing the Articulate Mobile Player.  The AMP is great, however, if you need to offer learners the chance to download content for offline viewing.

Try unchecking the AMP box, and let me know how it works!

Hi Crystal! Thank you for your reply. When choosing HTML5 as the publish format, the AMP option is grayed out. Should I select HTML5/Flash to uncheck box and then go back to select HTML5(only)? I will try that option. Unfortunately, it takes several days to test one format here because I am unable to load file on server myself. I appreciate your help!!

Thanks for the update Amanda. It certainly does sound like the option was previously marked and needs to be de-selected. Just let us know if that works better for you.
