Layer/Animation Issue in Flash

Oct 15, 2018

Hi all,

Attached is a slide featuring some animated tabs on the left which are on the top layer in order to remain visible. Whilst they work as intended when viewing in HTML5, I notice that in Flash the animation and behaviour is a bit all over the place as I'm sure you'll see when checking it out. Can anyone shed any light on why this might be?

Profuse thanks in advance

Hi there, Gareth. So sorry you're experiencing odd behavior with the animation. I'm happy to help!

I did some testing on the latest version of Storyline 360, and I believe I'm seeing what you're describing in the Flash output. Check out this quick Peek recording: When clicking on any hotspot, no corresponding information appears. Does that capture what you're seeing?

In the meantime, I'm going to share this with our Support Engineers to see if I can get further insight from them. Keep an eye out for an email from the team!

An update for the folks who are curious about the outcome from the conversation above!

My teammate, Richard, was able to reproduce this issue and logged Hidden objects from a base layer still appear when a trigger in a slide layer that will change the state of the object is added in Flash as a possible bug.

As a workaround in this project, Richard added triggers to display and hide the menu buttons when the value of the Menu1KO variable changes.

Appreciate you bringing this problem to our attention! I'll tag this discussion so that I can share any new information here, too!

Hi Gareth,

Good news! We fixed the issue where hidden objects from a base layer still appear when a trigger in a slide layer that will change the state of the object is added.

Here's how to install the latest Storyline 360 update to see all the recent enhancements and fixes.

If the problem reappears, please connect with our team, or share a screen recording here, and we'll be happy to help!
