I've added a layer animation on the slide attached. The animation plays and the layer showed and closed, but when i click it again, there is no animation. Please help
I am having trouble previewing your slide, but looking at the slide options maybe if you change 'When revisiting - reset to initial state' - that may work - sorry I can't test it to see if it works.
Sorry I can't help John — hopefully someone else can.
I created a new project and imported the slide in - same behaviour I can't preview and I also can't publish it. It flicks the screen as though it is publishing, then returns to the Publish dialog box. When I look into the output folder I don't get the html files to view it just three folders.
It may be my instance of SL1 but I have opened other .story files this morning and worked on them so don't think so.
I was able to download and open the file as well. The layers were not set to resume to initial state upon revisiting.
Here is the rule of thumb with the revisits set to automatically decide: If the slide contains just simple objects and audio but no interactivity, Storyline will revisit the slide at the beginning of the slide’s timeline. However, if the slide contains any interactive elements, such as buttons or any other object that includes a visited/selected state, Storyline won't reset the slide.
I updated the file and it seems to be working now with replaying the layer.
hi Emily, this is really strange. i played your file and animation works fine. but when i played mine after i changed the slide properties to Reset to initial. Same thing happened, lost the animation after the first attempt. Have i missed somehting fundamental?
Did you set all of the layer properties to this as well? If you are still having issues with the file, you could try and import it into a new file and see if that helps.

Hi John I have tried again. I started the preview at 9:39 and it's now 9:45 and this is what I have
Does it take you this long to preview?
Thats strange, the file only has 1 slide so it shouldn't take long to load

Hello John,
Did you set all of the layer properties to this as well? If you are still having issues with the file, you could try and import it into a new file and see if that helps.
