Layer not appearing in Preview

Aug 11, 2017

Hi everyone. Long-time lurker, newbie 360 subscriber here, so hello!

I've gone through a number of similar-sounding threads, but couldn't quite find anything which was applicable to my situation. Sorry if anyone has already answered similar elsewhere.

I have a slide on which there is a heading and a set of instructions on the base layer. There's then an interactive element - the user should click on the social media icons to learn more about them. Upon clicking any of the icons, the instructions should disappear (to make way for the BACK button).

However, I cannot for the life of me get the instructions to appear on the preview. I'm sure it's something super simple! Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Emma

Well hello Emma and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

It looks like your instructions and your grid were on slide layers versus being on the base layer and you wanted both to display.

The slide layer properties were set to hide other slide properties, so this would not allow both to display at the same time.

If you remove that checkmark:

I think it works as you are expecting.

Your updated file is attached.

Hi Emma! So glad that was able to help you out. Thanks for popping back in to let me know.

As far as where to place items, it just depends on your course. I think you did a great job, just that one setting hung you up a bit.

Layers are good for interacting with a slide, having some branching, and literally layering things onto your base slide.
