Layers Automatically Playing

I am new to Storyline and trying to add layers, and want them to play as I have them put in the timeline. However, they are not showing up at all under the main timeline with the voice over. How can you get layers to come in as timed, not needing to be clicked by user, etc. Also, why are my triggers and layers showing up seperately? I have added them and they do not show up together on the timeline or the triggers area. I am adding a screen shot. Thank you for your help!

Hi April add a shape off slide on the main layer that starts when you want the layer to appear, add a trigger to the shape to show layer when timeline start of that shape.
Thank you Phil - You advice was great, I was able to get them to come in, however, they are "unassigned layer", is this correct? Or is there away to link it to the layer? Just want to make sure that I am setting up my first one the right way. Thank you.
Looks like your layers have been deleted if you only want to show those picture you won't need the layers just build them on the base and set them as you have on the timeline no need for triggers
I would like to have the layers and triggers, but since I needed them to come in automatically and not when clicked, they were not showing up when I had them as layers. I also need to voice over to play the entire time of the slide, even when adding new layers, so any tips you have I would appreciate.
