I have a pick many question slide with two extra layers, one to say that they got the question right and the other to show the correct answer.
When I preview the slide on its own, the layers work fine and display the correct layers, but when I preview the entire project in Articulate Preview, the layers do not show up, when I press the submit button, it just advances to the next slide. Am I missing something?
Do the triggers that show the layers have conditions that reference variables, e.g. Show Layer abc when user clicks Submit if variable xyz is true? If yes, them maybe these variables are used/set somewhere else in your project.
There are no variables, but for the correct layer to display there are a few conditions for example TEXT BOX A and TEXT BOX B must be equal to the selected state to show the layer.
And then on the show correct answer layer there are a number of conditions to change the state of an icon, to show the users incorrect answers and the right answers.
I have attached a basic version of my storyline project, so please let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix it, or point out where I may have gone wrong?
One piece of this is trigger order, as the layers are set to be shown after the interaction has been submitted. The other piece, is that you have two correct layers set, and I'm not sure if you'd like to show both of them or only one?
Your layer "Correct answer one" also has a trigger to jump to the next slide when the timeline ends, which is only about 8 seconds, so when I change the trigger order I can still see the slides advance almost immediately to the final video slide.
Let me know a bit more detail about you're design and needs, and then we can help fix this up!
When the user submits their answers if they get the five correct answers I would like the correct dialogue box to appear, and then if they get it incorrect the correct Answer One layer would be visible.
As mentioned earlier when playing the slide on its own, the layers work, but when I preview the entire project or publish it does not work.
The Answer One layer is essentially the Incorrect feedback then it sounds like.
Taking a look at your file in Form View, I can see that you have the Incorrect layer set to jump to the next slide, so this is why you are not seeing your custom layer.
i have tried to change this setting to unassigned , but it keeps switching back to next slide. I have tried rebuilding the slide, but I still have the same problem. Have I missed something else?
I see that occurring too, but following Leslie's advice you could set up the items from Correct Answer One layer onto your Incorrect layer and use that to allow the built-in feedback branching to happen as designed. The easiest way to do that is to rename your Correct Answer One layer to Incorrect.

Can you share your .story file so that someone can have a closer look?

Hi Ashley,
Thank you so much that worked! Can't believe it was so simple in that a layer name just needed altering.
Yay! So glad you were able to get this working as you wished Nicki :)
