Hi Karen

you deleted the post with the slide you were having an issue with - but the only one with layers is 2.4.

I have published and I can view 2.3 - click Explore history and then view each text box / layer on 2.4  - close each one and it returns to to 2.3 with a visited state on Explore history?

I see you have published for LMS..are you viewing in the intended environment? If you want to test you could upload to Scormcloud to test.

Here is a link to the published output on my webserver - see if it works how you need it to

Hi Karen,

The link Wendy shared for your published output worked normally for me, and I was viewing it in Chrome. You'll want to make sure you're viewing the courses in their intended environment as viewing it locally could cause you to encounter security restrictions as described here. Also, you'll want to ensure you're viewing it in a supported browser as detailed here.

You'll want to ensure you're also publishing and working on local project files, as working off a network or shared drive is known to cause difficulty with the files.

Thanks for all the help so far

I have republished for web opened on mac and on windows in chrome most up to date versions and in all cases the layer slide still wont work. i think if it was browser issue none of the slide would work but the text insert all other effects work just not the slide layers. I have isolated that slide and am attaching it for any other ideas

Hi Wendy i cant connect to that link on either mac or windows my mac says the page where the server is located inst responding.

The reason i published this was because i need 4 stakeholders to look at the colours the logos the music the photographs to make sure they are culturally acceptable and so i'll need to email the file to the stake holders, in the past I've done this by email the published html file and never had an issue  is that not correct and as i say I've just done another little practice slide and it works alright

Hi Karen

all the published files are needed to run the module so if you are not uploading the published files to a server then you would need to distribute by publishing to CD and then zipping the published output and email it to others. (They would need to extract before viewing and double-click the Launch_Story.exe file in the published output to view the course.)

Here is some info from the KB that might help you

Hi Karen,

Also you mentioned emailing them the entire contents of the published output, and if they're viewing it locally that could be why it's not displaying correctly - especially if it's in Chrome. You can see here that Chrome changed the behavior of how local Flash content won't play by default- but you can reenable Flash and ensure it's included as a trusted location.  If you're viewing any web orLMS content that you've published and viewing it locally you may encounter the security restrictions as described here.

The one link that Wendy shared was uploaded to Tempshare which is a temporary hosting location for published web content and it would allow you to share it with your stakeholders for up to 10 days (it'll automatically be deleted after 10 days) and then they'll be able to take a look at it within a "live" location.
