Learner Notes
May 20, 2013
I would like to have a tab available throughout my course so that learners can take notes. I have a slide with a text input field and have it displayed as a lightbox. This works fine, except when the learner revisits the notes page after already typing something in. The text is automatically highlighted and you cannot click to move the cursor to the end of the text to continue typing. You can click the End key or the right arrow key on the keyboard to move the cursor to the end, but I am afraid my learners won't know to do this (even with instruction added to the top of the page) and will accidentally erase the text that they have already typed. Is there a way to have the cursor automatically move to the end of the text so the learner can continue typing in the notes box?
Thanks!

Hi Laura,
just a few days ago a similar question popped up...
I've attached an example of how you can get some user input and send it as an-email...
It is a very rudimentary example, it uses a variable to hold the comment and a variable to store the user’s email address and some Javascript to take the CR and LF into accountt
Hope it points you in the right direction
Cheers

Hi Geert. Thank you for the file. I still run into the same problem though with the text being highlighted when you revist the slide and try to add to the typed text. I want to be able to click in the text box and have the cursor be at the end of the text so I can continue taking notes.
