Learners missing buttons
Nov 30, 2018
Hello!
I'm hoping someone here can help me out with an issue that I'm having with a course that I've uploaded to our LMS, BVS. After I uploaded the SCORM 1.2 to BVS, I tested the course and everything looked perfect. I asked my SME to review the course in BVS and she's unable to see everything that I can see.
The course is a simulation of an internal software, and the course has 3 parts to each section: View it, Try it, Test me. Once my SME launched the course and watched the "View It" portion, there should have been two buttons that appeared when the simulations completed. I have the slide set to show the layer when the media completes. She could not see the buttons, and therefore can't complete the course.
I can see everything the way it's supposed to look in both Chrome and Internet Explorer. I'm running Windows 10, but all of my colleagues are running Windows 7. Any ideas why this wouldn't work?
Thanks!

Hi Samara,
Do you know what versions of Chrome and Internet Explorer your SMEs are viewing the course in? Do you know if it's the Flash or HTML5 output they're viewing?
Also, was this published with Storyline 360 or another version?
Hi Ashley,
They've only attempted to view the course in Internet Explorer 11, as most PCs here do not have Chrome. It's published in HTML5, so I assume that's how they're viewing it. It was published with Storyline 360.
At the recommendation of tech support I deleted the slide layers and had the slides jump to a duplicate slide with the buttons once the media completes. It worked in my test course (I copied a single scene to a new story file), but now that I'm back in the original file, it isn't working.
I'm at my wit's end here. I've been working on this class for 2 months and it's finally complete and I can't get it to work correctly. :(
Hi Samara,
So you are unable to recreate the issue in a new course?
Curious if you import your slides into a new file if that corrects the behavior you are experiencing?
If you can share your .story file, we'd be happy to take a look. If you cannot share it here in the forums, please share privately with our team here.
That's correct. Importing the exact. same. slides. into a new file seems to fix the problem. I don't get it. I can't share publicly, and when I was working with tech support the other day they weren't sure what the issue was either after I shared the story file with them. The complete file is too large to share, however. It keeps timing out.
Ok, so I just imported all the slides to the new file, It doesn't work. It worked after importing a few scenes, but once I imported everything, it doesn't work again. I'm at a complete loss.
Hi Samara,
You mentioned you were working with our support team, so I wanted to check in on your case to see what has been discovered there. I'm not finding a case under your Articulate ID -- do you happen to have that case number handy?
