Length of courses in Articulate

Nov 15, 2016

We are considering using Articulate to modernize our current graduate level online courses. We expect learners to spend 20 clock hours reading and watching video and taking assessments. Our readings are generally magazine article length and sometimes book chapter length. Is there a way to attach readings of this length to a slide in an Articulate course other than in the Resources tab?

Hi Evelyn,

If you're able to host PDFs on a server, you also have the option of embedding PDFs as web objects directly onto a slide:

  1. Select the slide you want the PDF to appear on.
  2. Select the Insert Tab
  3. Select Web Object. A dialog box will appear.
  4. In Address field, enter the url where your PDF resides.
  5. Click OK.

Something to consider is readability. As a link the Resources tab, the PDF will open full screen within the browser window. As a web object, the PDF will only be as large as the Storyline slide itself. Your users might find it easier to read as a link in the Resources tab, or as a hyperlink on the slide itself.
