Letting learners choose another option (button) when clicking the back button on a layer

This is kind of hard to explain. I have a course I created (no questions) just informational. The learner can choose from three buttons on a layer and it shows the media. When I select the back button it will not allow you to choose anther option (button). I have the layer set on "resume saved state" when revisiting the layer. Please help!

If you want to return to the layer where you choose what to hear about, there are some complications. If you come back to this layer with it set to resume saved state, the timeline has probably ended, and you don't get to choose again, but if it is reset to initial state, you have to go all the way through everything again.

I would create a new layer for the choice. When the timeline gets to the spot where you make a choice, automatically show that layer and hide this one. (By the way, save some time: each layer can be set to hide other layers in the properties, so you don't have to hide them yourself.) Then when you come back, come back to the choice layer. You can use variables to change the states of the buttons (you are doing this already), and set it to initial state.
