Lighbox interferring with a "try it" slide
May 23, 2014
This is probably an easy fix, but I can't figure it out, and I've spent too much time hunting for the answer.
I have a story where it starts by setting up the scenario the user is going to accomplish, and then starts them off letting them try it. However, I have custom buttons that allow for all sorts of different interactions - they can view the entire video demo, they can view the one step they are supposed to be doing, or they can reference help from any screen they are on.
My problem is I am calling these specific links (entire video/step-by-step video/help) through the lightbox feature, and clicking the lightbox close button always brings up the "Try Again" dialog box for the Try-It slide beneath.
How do I make the lightbox not interfere like that?
Thanks!

Hi CL,
I just tried to replicate this in my own .story files with a "try it" screen recording in a lightbox - and I was able to use the regular Lightbox red X to close the window without it interfering with my "Try it" set up. Can I take a look at your .story file to see how it's behaving?
Thanks for replying - I actually had to just remove the "Try it again" slide trigger. :-(
Because I am curious as to what I am doing wrong, I will try to upload a variation of it, but it will have to be after I have some time to create a demo version (proprietary data).
Thanks!
Hi CL,
We'll be happy to take a look at a sample when you get a chance - and just let us know if you need anything else in the meantime.
