I know we had a previous issue reported in regards to the ability to close the lightbox. This seems to be working perfectly in Storyline 360 and Storyline 3.
Is that what you were asking about or have I misunderstood?
Sorry if I wasn't clear... closing the lightbox is part of the issue. I'm wondering, specifically, if a lightbox is accessible, i.e. can a screen reader "read" the content, can a user tab in and out of the lightbox (I'm 99% sure that is the case.)
With Storyline 2 Update 5 we fixed an issue where the lightbox couldn't be closed using the accessibility features. Leslie's examples allowed me to tab to the button, press the enter key to open the lightbox and then tab again to the Red X to close.
Can you try those steps? As for reading the content, it'd be the same as a regular slide and the user would need to tab through and ensure that you've set it up to be accessible and adding the alt text if needed.
I know this is an older post, but I am having an issue with lightboxes in my 360 course. We have a line of text with one of the words clickable to open the lightbox. When I am using an NVDA screen reader, it reads the text and even details that it's clickable, but for some reason I'm not able to launch the lightbox. Enter and the spacebar both didn't work. @Brian Bell, I'm wondering how you have your lightboxes setup? Maybe because the clickable option is within the text object? The click for the linked word doesn't appear in the tab order either.
I've added "invisible" click boxes for now that will trigger the opening of the lightbox (which the screen reader is able to read and tab to close), but am looking to see if there is a way to do this with a linked word without this work around?

Good question! (I too am looking for a good answer though :-) )

Let me know if you need anything else!
Tabbing and Enter worked like a charm. And, if the lightbox is like a regular slide then a screen reader shouldn't have a problem. Thanks!

Hi Jackie! If you could also share a sample of your file so we can see how you've set up the slide, that would be helpful! Thanks for reaching out. 😊
