This is a good video tutorial. I'm not sure how she can see the lightbox in the preview version though.  I can't open either a lightbox or files in the resources tab in preview. I have to upload to the LMS.

Are you previewing the entire course or just a specific slide or scene? If so, that could be a part of the issue you're running into if those lightbox slides are linked outside of the particular scene. If things are still not working as expected in preview - you'll want to confirm you're working on local project files as described here and then I'd look at conducting the repair of Storyline.
