Lightbox and hotspot

Jun 03, 2016

I have the following problem: I have a lightbox with a text box  and hotspots inside a scroll panel. There is a hotspot for each sentence (each sentence in the text leads to a different slide). When the user clicks on a sentence the lightbox closes and a slide opens. Users have access to the lightbox from several slides. The problem is that when the lightbox opens for first time (it does not matter from which slide) it works fine. If I try to open it again from a different slide the content of the text in the scroll panel disappears. It is interesting that the hotspot is still there because if I click in the empty space a slide opens.

I removed the hotspots and left only the scroll panel with the text and it seems that there is no problem - I can open the lightbox from any page and the content is there. As a result I presume that the problem is with the hotspot.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Vassiliki

Dear Steven,

Many thanks for your quick reply. I attach here a file that shows what I try to do and what the problem is. I also published it in the address:

http://betterthanbook.com/lightbox/story.html

I forgot to mention that the problem appears only if I access the file in an ipad and tablet via the 'viewer' - not in a laptop using a browser. In the lightbox the first two options (page 1 and page 2) are linked.

Many thanks again for your time and help.

Hi Leslie,

Many thanks. The problem is with the use of the hotspot. When I removed the hotspot the text appears fine. I also replaced the hotspots with buttons (because I want these areas to be clickable) and again everything works fine.  And apparently the main problem is the viewer. It is very bad that the viewer is of such low quality. I have several problems. I hope that the Storyline team will do something for the viewer. It was a big asset for storyline at the beginning but now all 'e-learning software' offer an ipad/tablet viewer (unfortunately of a better quality than the storyline viewer).
