Lightbox and Next Button not working
Sep 13, 2016
Hi,
I have a slide with about 10 items on it. The learner should click each item to lightbox the content. After they have, the next button becomes available and they can proceed. However, when they go back to that slide the next button doesn't retain the state of visited.
I do have a trigger on it that says to disable the next button when timeline starts. I do not want users to click through this slide without having viewed each item. Has anyone ran into this issue before? Any suggestions or workarounds? It sounds like that when the user navigates back, the trigger to disable the next button occurs again. I only want it to occur once really.
Thanks,
Peter

The trigger is fired a second time. You'd need to leverage a variable to control the trigger. Recommend creating a second trigger on click of the next to set the variable to true or 1, then add a condition on your current Next trigger to fire if unset
Hi Brian,
I was able to work through it just as you suggested. Thanks!
Glad that Brian was able to assist you here Peter :) Thanks for popping in with an update.
Hey Brian,
Would you be able to break this down more for me? I'm not quite an expert with Storyline, so can you walk me through what this means: "creating a second trigger on click of the next to set the variable to true or 1, then add a condition your current Next trigger to fire if unset."
Hey fellow Alyssa! 👋 I'd be happy to help you!
Can you tell me a little more about what you're looking to achieve? I can create a short video tutorial to walk you through the steps.
