I just tested this in SL2 as I wasn't entirely sure what would happen - and yes, you can lightbox it. Since the "view mode" slides of a screen recording advance automatically, the screen recording will continue onto the next slides in the series unless you close the lightbox or change the default trigger behavior. But the basic concept/premise - it all works normally.
