I have several hotspots overlaid on an image in a quiz slide. Currently, the student can click anywhere on the slide and submit an answer. If they miss the hot spot by even a little, they get a wrong answer scored. I need to make sure they can only select the hotspot areas. Is that possible? Tried several searches and have not hit on the right phrase to find the answer.

HI Cliff, not sure I'm reading this correctly. The hotspot quiz type only allows for one correct hotspot and then any number of incorrect hotspots - is that how yours is set up? Can you make the hotspot bigger to catch the users click. You're right if they click anywhere on the slide (hotspot area or not) SL registers it as their selection. Perhaps if you can screenshot the slide with the hotspots displaying (from edit mode) and share that we can see what you mean.
Thanks, I'm not sure if my response posted the first time or not. Not seeing it. Here's an example of the a slide I'm working on.
I only have one correct answer. The problem is two-fold. One, the hotspots need to be small enough that they don't overlap. Two, if you click anywhere on the slide it sets a marker that then gets submitted as a wrong answer. I was hoping I could set up an invisible frame (or something like that) that only lets the student click on the hotspots themselves. Doesn't sound like that's possible.
Appreciate the assistance. I have a lot of this type of quiz to develop since we use several different types and styles of radios.
Is there a way to force the user to click? I have a geography question but my slide is allowing the user to submit results without actually clicking on the map.
Hello Ahmed! By default, the hotspot graded question slide requires learners to click somewhere on the slide before submitting. Otherwise, they should see this prompt:
Can you confirm what version of Storyline you’re using? Go to Help> About Storyline.
Is the slide a built-in graded hotspot slide?
Do you have the Next and Previous buttons enabled instead of the Submit button on the player?
I am using storyline 2 and it is built in graded hotspot slide.
I have a custom submit button and storyline was considering the button part of the interaction. Therefore I have placed it on a layer. But now users can click the submit button without actually completing the interaction.

Hi Cliff
take a look at this rough example where I have used a Pick One freeform quiz type with two offstage buttons.
I still put the hotspots on the four buttons - it might work for you.

Hey Ahmed
how are they getting to the layer with the submit button if the user hasn't completed the hotspot slide?
