Limiting Navigation via Menu
Feb 24, 2015
Hello,
Is there a way to limit a user's ability to navigate through the menu? Here is our scenario:
We have two parts to our single module. Part A and Part B. Both parts have their own course tests. We do not want users to be able to access Part B material, unless they have passed Part A.
This complicates the menu. If we restrict menu navigation, the user can not go to the next slide until the timeline has ended. We don't want this. We want our user to be able to advance through the slides at whatever pace they want.
How do we prevent them from clicking into Part B from the menu, but still show the content of Part B in the menu, and allow them to advance through the course without waiting for the timeline?
Thank you,
Sara

Hi Sara,
Have you seen the workaround mentioned here by one of our users to deal with the set up of the restricted navigation and the slide timeline/next button not advancing till it's over.
I asked a similar question at https://community.articulate.com/discussions/building-better-courses/is-it-possible-to-lock-just-1-scene-in-menu-navigation
My issue is slightly different, though, since we need the Menu navigation to remain Free.
Hi Keith,
Thank you for sharing your goal with us! I see Judy shared an in-depth approach for your design.
Have you had a chance to try it? I wonder if the community has more suggestions!
