Limiting the number of times learners can jump to a slide

May 09, 2014

I have a slide that has three images - a beaver, a fox, and an owl. I want the learner to be able to click each image one time and jump to the corresponding slide one time.  Each image has the states of  "normal", "hover", and "visited."  Each image has the Trigger Wizard set to:

Action - Jump to slide

Slide - This is a quiz question specific to the image (for example, 9.4 We are all responsible for ensuring that information...)

When - User clicks

Object - The image (for example, Picture 4 - "Beaver3.png")

On Condition:

Picture 4 - "Beaver3.png" state is Normal

When I click on Beaver3.png, I jump to the slide with the question.  After I answer the question, I am returned to the main slide.  I can click on the image (e.g. Beaver3.png) again.  I'm sure there is way to limit this to one click. Help!!

Thanks!

Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Really quick question - is the state of the image actually "Visited" when you return to the slide, or is it resetting to "Normal"?

If it's resetting, the revisiting settings for your slide may be set to "Reset to initial state". Try changing this to "Resume saved state".

If you still have trouble getting this to work, you're welcome to share the .story file here. I'm sure we can figure out what's happening :)

Thanks!
