I suspect that this will not be possible due to the various different ways that browsers have of displaying PDFs, but it's worth a try I guess.

Let's imagine that the URL to your PDF is as follows:

http://www.example.com/myfile.pdf

Then adding #page= followed by the page number is how you'd like to a specific page.

So if you wanted the PDF to open on page 7, your link would look like this:

http://www.example.com/myfile.pdf#page=7

I expect that this will work with Adobe Reader, but likely won't work in other cases. Although I haven't tested it so hopefully I'm wrong!

Linking to an exact word or sentence isn't going to be possible.
