linking cmi.progress_measure output to LMS

Dec 12, 2018

I have been doing some research and found out that Storyline 360 does not have the SCORM output of cmi.progress_measure for an LMS to link the progress % in an LMS.

First, is this correct?

Second, what is the workaround?  I have found these posts, but not really helping me too much.

Hi, Clinton!

Currently Track using course completion in Rise 360 will report either Complete or Incomplete status to the LMS, but not partially complete.

It sounds like you're interested in capturing data that shows the actual percent of the course the learner completed. Can you tell us more about when you would want Rise 360 to send that data and how you would use it? I can share those details with my team as a feature request.

Hi Eugene!

Thanks for checking in on this! I understand that you're trying to find a way to send the cmi.progress_measure to your LMS from your Storyline course.

Right now, cmi.progress_measure isn't part of the quiz variables communicated to learning management systems (LMSs) by Articulate Storyline SCORM and AICC content. Although Articulate doesn't provide support for JavaScript coding, this article will help when you're developing JavaScript triggers in Storyline.

We have a list of variables sent to an LMS from Storyline! If there are any changes, we'll keep you updated in this discussion!

Hi André,

Thank you for inquiring about this! At this time, having Storyline communicate the cmi.progress_measure to an LMS is something we are continuing to track. In the meantime, I wanted to share this post from Justin that I hope will help provide some ideas here:

If there are any updates on this, we'll be sure to reach back out!
