Linking to html demonstation
Nov 16, 2015
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone has done this before?
We have a virtual site visit demonstration that has been captured using a 360 degree camera. The file to start the demonstration is a html file and there are many supporting files that go with it. See attached document.
We have tried to use the hyperlink function in storyline 1 to start the demonstration. ( i.e. click here to see the demonstration). Unfortunately when we click on 'click here', the web page opens but all we see is a black screen. This demo works fine when we view it in standard internet explorer browser. The storyline file has been published and uploaded into our LMS when we tried to view it.

I have done this with a virtual tour, using a web object that I linked to the launch/index page of the tour. As long as you keep all the supporting files in the same directory structure, the tour should be displayed inside the web object. Here is an example: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl71_SL/VT/story.html This test involved a bunch of other 'hooks' into Storyline with Javascript, but the concept was the same.
Hi Darshan,
You may also want to look at if you could upload the file to another web server or similar and then link to it as described here using the normal web object option.
Thanks Ashley,
We will try these options.
