Links to pfd files
Oct 31, 2013
Hi!
I have a problem with linking to pdf's. Who can help me out here?
This is what I want to achieve:
In my e-learning programm I have several pages where I refer to literature. These are PDF files. I want the student to be able to click on the link and then the pdf file should open.
This is what I did:
I put the links to the files in seperate text boxes, I placed the pdf files in My Articulate Projects. The titles of the pdf files only contain letters and numbers (no spaces or _)
This is what happens:
None, but 1, of the files actually open after publishing my project. The 1 tells me it should be possible to make it work!!
But it doesn't, what am I doing wrong?
This is the fault message:

Document Not Found Check to make sure that you entered the URL correctly. |
I enter the URL's by: selecting text, insert hyperlink, browse to file and choose OK.
Thank you for looking into this!
Kind Regards
Marijke

Additional Informations: The My Articulate folder is situated on a network. The link to the files become:
\\amc.intra\\users\\M\\mrichmond\\home\\My Articulate Projects\\L2PolicyMeetingamiataxonomySecondaryDataUseVersion.pdf
The one that works is a fake
it is a link to a pdf online....
I read many other posts on this problem, I guess because I work from a network this is not going to work??

How about just adding the pdf files to the Resources tab and then referring the user to Resources in the lesson?
Hi Marijke,
To answer your question "...I guess because I work from a network drive this is not going to work??"
This is an older thread, but I believe it still holds true: Linking to stuff on a network drive possible?
and the recommendation is to do as Cristina has suggested above: link to the Resources tab.
Will that work for you?
Hi Marijke! Looks like you are getting some great assistance from Cristina and Becky here
