LMS Quiz Results reporting too soon during retry.
Jun 25, 2014
Hey all,
I have several lessons that have been loaded to our LMS. Each lesson has a quiz with a results slide that reports to the LMS when the timeline starts on the Results slide. The learner is required to get 80% to pass, and has the option to retry the quiz. When they retry the quiz, as soon as they hit that 80%, the learner receives a popup from the LMS that they have completed the activity and can exit the course.
Example: 10 question quiz > on the retry, if they get the first 8 questions, they get the 'completion' popup.
We would like to eliminate this popup. We tried moving the submission of the result to the Success/Failure Layers and have tried moving the submission of the result to the "exit" button. However, if the learner then exits the course and decides to come back in and try it again - they get the same popup.
Any ideas?

Hi Carrie and welcome to Heroes!
It sounds like this pop up is coming from your LMS? I'd suggest checking with them to see if there is a way to disable it - or since Storyline is communicating quiz data slide by slide (in the event that the user needs to close and resume) you may want to change the behavior to submit it all at once.
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your reply. We have considered this, however, many of our quizzes are in a game format (using quiz banks in random order) and would not provide the desired 'game' action unless the score is reported.
Carrie.
Hi Carrie,
Yes, changing when the interactions are submitted may interfere with the game format. Were you able to check with your LMS team (what LMS is it - someone here in the forums may be able to assist) to see if there was a way to disable that pop up?
