LMS reporting question details

Jul 26, 2017

Real newbie here. I've created some content with a quiz (graded questions) and published it for LMS and loaded it successfully. I have logged in as a 'user' to complete the quiz and went to have a look at the results.

My dilemma is this: The report will tell me what the answers for each of the question is... but not what the question was. Eg:

Question 1: True

Question 2: False

This doesn't help me when I need to print out the results to keep on file so that I can show that the user was aware of a concept for compliance reasons.

What am I doing wrong? Why can't the SCORM tell the LMS what the question and corresponding answer is?

thanks.

Many times this is a limitation of the LMS, and what your LMS stores in the database.

With that being said, SCORM 2004 will send much more data than SCORM 1.2 or AICC, given your LMS supports and stores this data, then makes it available to you for reporting.

I know when we use SCORM 2004 we can view the question text, along with the answer text for the answer the user selected and if that answer selection was correct or incorrect.

So my LMS is giving me the questions and answers to the short answer questions, but when it comes to multiple choice or multiple response, I get this:

Sport answered manual handling TC->Manual Handling tin can->When team lifting why is it important for one person to plan and co-ordinate the lift? (succesfullywith score 10 response: 'choice_6TkS3LlyvOL[,]choice_60Ur4Qn7rjz[,]choice_62cH0dA2jFg')

Why isn't it giving me the answer that they chose?

Hi,

This is EXACTLY my question, but I want to take it a bit further.

I have a quiz published in 2004 3rd edition. This is supported by our LMS.

Articulate's graded questions (multiple choice, true false, etc.) work perfectly.

As long as I make sure to put the question text in the question box on the slide Form View - I see the question text in the LMS reports. Great!

What about FREE FORM Questions?! Where can you designate the question text?

I have tried the following, but they did not work:

1. I renamed the slide as the question text

2. I inserted a text box with the question text and designated that text box as "default text box"

Any super users with ideas or answers?

Thanks!

Great question... I've not run into this need before. Hopefully someone here in the community has a suggestion.

In situations like this it's too bad we can't edit/modify the SCORM identifiers for questions in Storyline, as this would make it possible to add your question text, or at least something that would help you identify what the question is that you're seeing an answer for on your reporting.
