Local video not playing when Storyline is published
Mar 02, 2018
I've read an article showing how it's possible to include a local video in a web object on a slide. I have an index.html file with HTML5 video code that works fine in a browser. In the Storyline 360 web object dialog, I linked to the folder containing the file. Everything looks OK. When I publish and play the story back I get the error:
Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (f) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
What can I do to get the web object to work from within the Storyline published folders as opposed to an external URL?

The problem might be related to browser security. Firefox and Chrome wouldn't play it but Internet Explorer did after I clicked an Allow button.
Hi there Ray!
After you published the Storyline file, where did you host it?
If you were viewing the content locally, that could have been the culprit. Instead, try publishing for Web and hosting the output on Tempshare. Let me know if you see a difference there!
