localization

Thanks for sharing your questions with the community. Localization of content is a hot topic around here as more and more companies develop learning content for global audiences.

In fact, the community has some pretty rich discussion threads with how-to tips and best practices for this topic. You may want to check these out for some pointers:

• How to Localize E-Learning Modules Produced in Storyline Note: This thread covers a lot of territory, including narration.
• Translating Articulate Presentation Content Languages Note: This one contains tips for Articulate Presenter users, but may still be relevant to you.
• Translating Storyline Content
• Translations - non-English character types - is there a difference? Note: The comments in this discussion speak to the character spacing differences you may need to accommodate with your layout & visual design. Typically, I try to layout content and design the screen around the language that has the longest/most characters, first. I've found it's easier to go from biggest to smallest.
• Translation of e-Learning courses Project Management  Note: This one has some wonderful best practices for managing the translation process, working with vendors, organizing files, etc.

Do you familiar with a vendor that can provide localization that includes:

1. Narration ( many languages)

2. Synchronization with storyline

I'm not familiar with any similar vendors, but hopefully someone in the community will be able to share their expertise here.

Although we handle mainly multi-language narration here, we have also worked closely with clients on storyline synchronization with great success. Good references. Lisa or I can discuss that with you by e-mail or phone.

Unfortunately I don't have any specific recommendations for vendors, but the discussion threads I shared with you previously do contain some references to, and input from, various localization vendors so you might want to give those another look.

And as Ashley said, hopefully the community will weigh in with their suggestions as well.

There are a ton of vendors that offer these kinds of services. The only one I have personally worked with is translations.com. They offer a range of services including translation, integration of translated text, voiceover, and synchronization in Storyline.
