All the images in my Stories are razor-sharp, except for any PNG logo I put into the Menu in the left Sidebar. No matter how I resize the PNG, the logo looks blurry by comparison. It's not horrible, but you notice it, and I'm sure the client will, too.
I've used PNGs from 200 pixels wide to 1600 pixels wide, at 72dpi and 300dpi. Everything looks the same. Anyone else having this issue? I'd post a screenshot, but the picture insertion feature of this forum doesn't have the detail to show what I mean.
Thank you! I appreciate your quick reply. I was already in that thread. I was attempting to help Misha improve the quality of his in-slide graphics by publishing them on my own system and reporting back. Misha solved his problem by going to 100% graphics quality for his published output.
I always publish at 100% graphics quality so, unfortunately, that solution doesn't apply to me. My in-slide graphics look 100% accurate, very sharp. It's the logo that always comes out comparatively blurry. I'm using pristine scalable .EPS logo masters, and I know how to make a nice, sharp PNG, so I'm positive it's a bug.
Thanks for the suggestion, Gerry. I tried both after your post, and threw in a big ol' uncompressed TIFF for good measure. Same result. It's really easy to see the difference between the menu logo and the sharper slide imagery if you click the "View Project" button upon publishing to CD, then maximize the window. You can see what I mean in the screenshot below. Even though the screenshot itself is rather blurry, the difference is pretty much unacceptable. You can barely discern the stars and trademark in the menu version of the logo.
Unfortunately, Stacy won't be able to fix this particular issue by going to 100% image quality. That takes care of the images in the story, but not the logo image. I filled out a support ticket on this, as the logo isn't handled the same way as the images in the story. It's fuzzy no matter what you do, if you view the course at any size larger than the story size. The simple fix would be to force the browser to story size only, but that results in postage-stamp-sized courses on today's hi-res monitors.
Articulate was able to duplicate the issue from my support ticket, but that was two revisions ago. I can only hope they fix it in the next update.

It seems this logo issue was resolved in Articulate Storyline 1 because I created many modules last year with "scale to fill browser window" option and the result was always fine.
However, I have now to deal with this logo issue in Articulate Storyline 2... I found this post and the only solution for me is to change the option (and choose "lock player at optimal size").
I hope this issue will be resolved for Articulate Storyline 2 because the player and the menu text are very small...
(Additionnal information: I can't use anymore Articulate Storyline 1 on all my computers because the software is asking me to update the browser flash plugin... But the pugin are up-to-date)
I don't see this issue reported for Storyline 2 yet - so I'm curious if you could share a sample file here with us with the logo file?
Also, in regards to the Flash plugin error you're seeing, when Adobe released Flash Player 16 it caused an issue with opening Storyline 1 and 2 - you'll want to ensure you have the latest update of each and you can download Storyline 1 here.

I just tried to integrate different logo formats (jpeg, swf, tif, wmf...) and resolution (72, 150, 300dpi) but the final image is actually always compressed in both version (Articulate 1 and 2).
I think we can sometimes feel there is "no" compression... But it depends on the logo design (shape, colors, etc...).
So the only solution would be to change the option (and choose "lock player at optimal size") and get a smaller player.
There is always a certain amount of compression that will happen with images, audio and video files in Storyline - and I did a test of your one logo file in this Storyline file and posted here. Scaling your content as you see will always have an impact on the image resolution - and I'd recommend using a png image if accessible, as they seem to deal with the scaling issues better.

I wanted to take a look at the differences, to see if I could pinpoint what you're seeing - so I set up a file in SL1 and SL2 and used the same image file on the slide itself and as a player logo. I set both to scale the player and to fill the browser screen and then published to Tempshare. You can view the SL1 example here and the SL2 example here. I'm not seeing a difference in the quality of these two examples? Can you take a look and let me know your thoughts?

The story size is 720 X 540 (Scale to Fit). There is no zoom in that image. It´s a printscreen. The logo I'm having trouble with is low-resolution and I understand that this might cause blurriness. But every logo I insert into the player gets blurred.

For giggles, try a WMF or EMF instead. See if that is any better.

Are you having an issue with your logo when the content is published as well? What file format is your logo?
You can adjust the properties of your project upon publish:
By default, the image quality is set to 80%, so you could try to publish at 100% to see if that helps. There was another thread here about this issue.

use "Lock player at optimal size" and the logo should display as expected.

I chose the first option because the video quality is better too (without turning them into heavy HD mp4).
